About the Role

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the VP of Strategic Partnerships is an executive position and a strategic partner to all internal teams to:

  1. Accelerate revenue momentum and 
  2. Provide crucial market intelligence regarding future innovation opportunities.

The goal of this role is to drive brand awareness, elevate and position Abre with effective strategic door opening, go-to-market strategies through channel development, state partnerships, lobbying, and state-level affairs in helping lead growth strategies by maximizing existing client relationships and identifying new growth opportunities.

This position is remote. Abre is based in Cincinnati, Ohio.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leverage networking skills to find and create new revenue opportunities from both new and existing accounts 
  • Help the sales team navigate complex industry relationships and opportunities
  • Work closely with Abre internal partners to provide access to external relationships for both revenue generation and innovation market intelligence
  • Work with marketing and sales management to provide market trends and early indicators for relevant market needs to adapt and pivot in an ever changing market
  • Identify, manage, and drive accountability around contracted door openers
  • Find and create deep strategic relationships with state/regional associations, educational non-profits, and strategic organizations
  • Find non-traditional funding and partnership opportunities to accelerate adoption and impact of Abre
  • Partner with Business Development to identify and execute against adjacent market opportunities, including channel, integration, and content partnerships
  • Establish Abre as a thought leader at regional, state and national events
  • Identify and drive strategy around presentation/speaking opportunities at external events
  • Partner with the executive team to build and fully leverage an Abre Advisory Board consisting of industry leaders and top practitioners
  • Mitigate renewal risk in large, complex account and state-level relationships
  • Provide thought leadership and expertise to the strategic planning process and future M&A opportunities

Who You Are

  • 10+ years of successful sales and partnership experience in the K-12 education market
  • 5+ years of leadership experience partnering with executives and leading strategy
  • Team player aligned to and excited to live out Abre’s company values
  • Data-driven strategist who can articulate where market is headed and why
  • Someone who thrives in both virtual and in-person selling environments
  • Master at building rapport, outlining a buying vision, challenging the status quo, and positioning Abre as a strategic partner
  • Confident communicator with active listening skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to support partner and customer interactions
  • Energetic self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Organized, focused, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
  • This position requires heavy travel
